10 Players I like for Week 15:
Philip Rivers & Vincent Jackson (SD): Yes I know the strength of the Cincinnati Bengals defense are their corners (Leon Hall & Jonathan Joseph) but I still like this QB-WR combo to have a huge game on Sunday. Vincent Jackson finally had his first big game in over a month (7-120 Yards) and the Bengal CB’s give up at least 5 inches to Jackson. Rivers has passed for nearly a 1,000 yards over his past three games. Right now all Indianapolis Colts fans are nervous about playing the Chargers in the playoffs.
Chad Henne (MIA): For a guy with such a limited number of starts, Henne has displayed surprising poise for the Dolphins. Henne is 7-3 (3-2 on the road) as a starter and with wins against the Patriots, Jets (twice) and Panthers under his belt. At one point Henne completed 17 straight passes vs. the Jaguars last week and he now he faces a Titans pass defense that gives up huge chunks of yards through the air.
Santonio Holmes (PIT): With Hines Ward hurting Holmes is the smart play for a team that can’t run the ball anymore. Holmes has been on fire since the team’s bye week posting yardage totals of 93, 88, 86, 74, 149 and 93. He is a bit of a risk going against CB Charles Woodson but I still expect him to ring up at least 85 yards.
Chris Jennings (CLE): This will be the only time you ever see me recommend a player from the Cleveland Browns. Jennings was impressive against the Steelers in Week 14 with 73 yards and a score. I liked the fact he was getting a ton of work near the goalline.
Chester Taylor (MIN): He’s a guy to pick up for the moment the Minnesota Vikings lock up the #2 seed and the team decides to reduce Adrian Peterson’s workload. Taylor has been getting more and more work as of late and I would not be surprised to see him accumulate over a 100 total yards this weekend.
Fred Davis (WAS): Fred Davis is playing so well I could see the team looking to trade Chris Cooley in the off season. Davis has four scores in his last three games and is taking on a Giants D that has no idea how to defend the tight end.
Michael Jenkins (ATL): The guy has been fantasy death for most of the season until the Falcons 31-31 overtime loss to the Giants. Over his last three games Jenkins has totaled 16 receptions, 238 yards and one touchdown. With Darrell Revis locked on to Roddy White I see Jenkins having another solid game.
Wes Welker (NE): 41 receptions over his past four games! Randy Moss’s misfortune of constant double teams has meant fantasy gold for Welker. Look for 8-12 receptions against Buffalo.
Knowshon Moreno (DEN): The Broncos couldn’t win with Brandon Marshall catching 125 balls so expect an even heavier dose of Moreno this week against the Raiders. Now with Correll Buckhalter most likely out I expect Moreno to have his best game of his rookie career. Remember last week he had a career high 23 carries, look for 28-32 this week.
10 Players I don’t like for Week 15:
Carson Palmer & Chad Ochocinco (CIN): The Bengals are nothing more than a running team. With no explosive weapons at WR or TE Palmer has been reduced to handing the ball off 35 times to Cedric Benson. He has yet to record a 300 yard game in 2009 and threw for less than a 100 yards against the Vikings last week. Palmer has just four touchdown passes in his last six games. As for the Ocho, I love his sombrero, not so found of his production as of late. I just see don’t see the Bengals airing it out for the remainder of the season.
Brandon Jacobs (NYG): His first quarter fumble just doomed the Giants from the start. The fact that Ahmad Bradshaw had one less carry than big fat Jacobs should scare all Jacobs owners.
Larry Fitzgerald (ARI): Of course you have to play Fitzgerald this weekend; I understand that, the Cardinals are playing the Lions after all. Just don’t expect huge numbers from a guy who was playing with a gimpy knee on Monday night and now has a short week. Fitzgerald is averaging a disappointing 11.7 yards per catch and has only one 100 yard game in his last five.
Heath Miller (PIT): After watching Ben Roethlisberger get sacked eight times by the Cleveland Browns I’m betting Mike Tomlin keeps Miller in to help pass block. Fewer free releases for Miller means less overall receptions.
Greg Olsen (CHI): Olsen is facing a tough Ravens D and has only four receptions for 15 yards in his last two games. Olsen hasn’t found the end zone in five games, what happened to this guy?
Randy Moss (NE): Opposing teams have used the same blue print against the Patriots, bracket Moss all game long and force New England to generate 10-12 play drives with Wes Welker to score.
Jonathan Stewart (CAR): With D’Angelo Williams back Stewart’s production predictably fell to 29 yards against New England. This week he facing the Vikings and the Williams Wall so look for similar numbers.
Ryan Grant (GB): The Packers are facing one of the best run D’s in the NFL in Pittsburgh, a team that has to be upset after being gashed by the Browns. The Packers win behind the right arm of Aaron Rodgers, not the legs of Grant.
Braylon Edwards (NYJ): Too many questions at quarterback, drops too many passes and Jerricho Cotchery is the more dependable wide-out on the Jets. Unless he’s playing the Dolphins, Edwards will kill you if he’s in your starting line-up. I’m now convinced his 2007 80-1289-16 TD season was a fluke and will go down as one of the greatest one hit wonder fantasy seasons of all time.
