My apologies, but this week will be a smaller blog. We have to tape 'Fantasy Sports: The 411' today and everyone is motivated to get in and out quickly with it being Christmas Eve and all.
I’ll be writing more soon; plus with the NFL season winding down I’ll be switching my focus to the NBA.
Anyway as for this week my favourite picks are:
-Matt Schaub (Houston just can’t run the ball)
-Tom Brady (Yeah he’s been lousy, but he’s got at least one more monster game in him, doesn’t he?)
-Don’t fear Champ Bailey when it comes to DeSean Jackson. I’d start him over any other WR in the league right now.
-Antonio Bryant (Saints give up a ton of fantasy points to WR’s)
-Lee Evans (Total hunch pick)
-Marion Barber (I’m feeling a low scoring affair in Washington on Sunday night)
-Todd Heap (Jermichael Finley had a big day against the Steelers secondary, I see the same thing happening here)
-Dave Thomas (The Saints back-up TE has been better than the #1 white trash player in the league, Jeremy Shockey. Seriously do you see him on the sidelines in jeans with his trashy long hair? If it wasn’t for football he’d be hanging out in some skuzzy part of Florida, drinking Sunny D and kicking dogs for laughs.)
Guys I don’t like:
-Kyle Orton & Jay Cutler: (They both have a difficult match-up. Orton on the road vs. the Eagles D is no day on the beach and I see Cutler getting sacked about 21 times by the Vikings, which oh by the way would be an NFL record. Looking back I wonder if the Bears front office makes the Cutler trade if they could have a do over? I'm guessing no.)
-Reggie Wayne (Darrelle Revis Alert! Darrelle Revis Alert! Darrelle Revis Alert!)
-Terrell Owens (Only two targets against the Patriots last week. I’m feeling like he has already checked out on the 2009 season.)
-Laurence Maroney (I know he has played well recently but to beat the Jaguars you have to pass the ball.)
-Brad Childress …. Just a quick point here. We have to get away from the he said/she said between Childress and Brett Favre and look at the bigger problem. Why has the team gone away from running the ball? Is Adrian Peterson’s fumbling problem bigger than we all think it is? In the last month the Vikings have become very impatient when it comes to the running game. Peterson gets stopped early on, fine let’s just get our 40 year old QB chuck it 40 times a game. All the problems going on in Minnesota right now could be solved with AP averaging between 28-32 carries between now and the Super Bowl.
